Put your content on screen.
Two ways to showcase your product on a real vintage display. Bay Area only, available anytime.
On-screen green screen
The display shows a solid chroma-key green. Shoot the iMac as your prop, then CGI your own UI, app, or video onto the screen in post. Your content looks pixel-perfect and you control every frame.
Best for CGI and polished launch videosBring your content on USB
Hand us a USB drive with your files. We load and test them, and your content plays live on the vintage screen, so the real glow and scanlines are in camera.
Best for practical, in-camera shotsWhat can play on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X?
QuickTime movies (.mov) and older MPEG-4 and MPEG-1 files play well, and DVDs play on the G3 and G4. A modern 1080p H.264 file will stutter on a G3, so we re-encode it to a lighter format, around 640×480.
JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and PICT open fine. For slides, send them as images, a PDF, or a QuickTime movie rather than a modern PowerPoint or Keynote file.
PDFs, plain text, and simple old-style HTML pages work. Modern websites, web apps, and anything that needs a current browser won’t load.
Current software can’t run on this hardware. To show your app, send a screen recording or mockups and we play them on the display, or use the green screen option.
